The Vow Book Review

If you had seen the movie, please know that it was just “inspired” by a true story. It wasn’t what happened in the book. Far different story! I had to explain this to my husband when we watched it last night. I’m so glad I was able to read the book, and not just watch the movie.

Story. You might have heard of the story of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter. They had met, fell in love and gotten married. Two months after, they met a car accident that left Krickitt with Amnesia. She doesn’t remember even marrying Kim. How cruel is that? Up to this day, she hasn’t regained her memory and she probably wouldn’t. But thanks to love and commitment and not to mention, a strong faith in God, Kim and Krickitt were able to weave a new love story with God still in the center.

Title. I love the book and I could read it all over again! No other title fits their story perfectly other than The Vow. Although it was hard, they still “tried” to keep their vow to remain in each others arms through thick and thin, through sickness and in health.

Who the book is for. This book landed right in front of me and I just knew I needed to read it! It came at a time when I just want to call it quits. It’s a long story that I probably will share with you in the future. But for now, the only thing you need to know is that I’m having a hard time coping in our marriage. We are in the process of rebuilding it now. There are still scars and bruises to be healed but well we’re getting there in time. This book is for those who are planning to get married and those married and want to give up. This will give you another option other than divorce: stay together!

Overall. I am inspired. I am inspired by their commitment to God and each other. I am inspired to follow Jesus even when it’s hard. I am inspired to keep going even when it hurts. I am inspired to do the right thing even when it doesn’t seem to go anywhere because in God’s time, He will put the pieces back together.

Read the book!
